As soon as the new Samsung Galaxy S5 arrived for review – we decided to try its 5,1 inch Super AMOLED display in direct sunlight outdoors. This screen has Full HD 1080p resolution which means 432 ppi pixel density. Display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Reflection of the glass is not to high and it offers great touch experience because of its chemically strengthened properties. It is also and more durable than the previous Gorilla Glass 2. Virtual keyboard works precise and offers number keys on the top. Still, comma is missing on the first screen of the keyboard.
When we took it out in the open to check visibility outdoors, colors looked sharp, while text was readable – although Nokia Lumia 1320 with ClearBlack technology might look a little bit better outdoors. It’s best for you to check it out on our video below to see it for yourself.
Samsung Galaxy S5 display should be 22% brighter than the one on Galaxy S4, while OLED technology should save more battery. We mostly liked the body that looks and feels lighter, although it’s a bit bigger than Galaxy S4.
