Unlike Galaxy S5 or Xperia Z2, HTC is not officially waterproof. In private conversation, people from HTC company will tell you that their top model can stay safe if splashed with water. You won’t be able to snap photos underwater, but since HTC One M8 is pretty heavy and 90% metal chassis made, we had a misfortune to do “the drop test”. It fell on kitchen tiles, and it got a scratch.
Check our video below to see how it looks with a scratch. 🙁 If buying this beautiful HTC, you should definitely buy a case for it. Regarding waterproof, tests on the internet say M8 survived dunked in a pool for more than an hour without any damage to the internal parts.
